Monstarlab Prague is one of the newest addition to our European office network, established with a dedication to creating new services for the agency and a vision to become one of the most important players in the field of advanced digital products and innovation projects in the Czech Republic.

We are now hiring for a Technical Director based out of our Prague office, to help lead and steer our technical team in the office as well as supporting our sales and delivery team. The local tech team consists of 10 developers and infrastructure engineers with one team lead who will report into you. You are experienced within cloud and infrastructure and have a track record of delivering cloud migrations. You will work directly with our local MD and global CTO to drive the direction of the team. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Acting as an overall solution architect and/or infrastructure engineer: creating cost estimates for work, and ensuring that we consistently deliver in terms of quality, time and budget
  • Providing sales support through offering technical advice to our consultancy teams, as well as meeting local clients and ensuring presence and visibility at relevant regional events
  • Becoming the go-to person for our cloud and infrastructure offering while we build and mature this offering
  • Establishing Nodes coding standards, quality control, testing and process guidelines within the local team structure
  • Reviewing technical solutions and proposals, evaluating alternative approaches and supporting the development of prototypes as well as technical/functional specifications
  • Taking charge of HR-related processes such as employee education, training and development plans; performance reviews; and promotions

Our ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in a cloud and infrastructure role, and will have functioned as lead on diverse infrastructure and development projects. You are a technical thinker who works well at a program level to define requirements; but more than that you are proactive, enthusiastic and committed to delivering solutions that clients love. Beyond your hands-on experience, you will need solid experience in leading a team and you will also need to have been part of pitching and selling projects, by doing tech validation, estimations, and communicating technical solutions.

It’s important you have the following:

  • Years of experience working with cloud and infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience with 12 Factor Pattern, immutable architecture, Infrastructure as Code, Imperative vs Declarative
  • Experience of containers, cloud networking, SQL databases, Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus and other Cloud Native technologies
  • Experience doing cloud migrations
  • Utmost confidence communicating at an equal professional level in English
  • Years of practical application of the Agile methodology and the ability to coach and inspire others in this approach
  • A keen interest in developing those around you and fostering an office environment defined by clear, open communication
  • The cool head and social ease that makes you client-compatible on all fronts, and an effective representative of technical experts
  • A senior managerial track record defined by empathy; confident and consistent decision-making; and a love of problem solving
  • Knowledge of the challenges that accompany cross-office product development and project management

It’s preferred but not required you have some of the following:

  • Experience with Data Engineering
  • Experience with Sitecore Managed Cloud
  • Experience with GCP
  • Experience with debugging backend applications (.NET, PHP, Vapor etc.)
  • Experience with Golang, Bash and/or Python
  • Experience with ELK stack
